Alwar: The Gateway of Rajasthan
Formerly known as Mewat, Alwar is the conjunction of affluent culture, wealthy heritage and rich historical background lying amidst the rocky Aravalli ranges in Rajasthan, India.

With too much dry climate, the summers in Alwar are too much hot with temperature raising around 43C. Scorching heat and the blazing sun characterizes this season with roasting atmosphere making it impossible to be in the roads during the day time, specially at noon. This however stays till the month of June starting from April. The monsoon season receives mild showers making little difference to the temperature. The winter season starting from November is the most beautiful with amusing climate and temperature coming down to 8C. It is the best time for the tourists to visit during this season with pleasant weather best for sightseeing.

The closest airport to Alwar is at a distance of 162km, the Sanganer airport at Jaipur. It is well connected to many popular cities like Mumbai and Delhi which has good connectivity within the country as well as abroad through various flights.

The railway station of Alwar lies in the centre of the city and has regular and frequent connecting trains to Delhi and Jaipur from where many trains are available to different parts of the country.

Both state owned buses and private buses are available in Alwar which is also connected to all the nearby cities. Within the city Alwar it is the best conveyance medium. There are deluxe buses which travel to Delhi which is 365km from Alwar at reasonable rates.
